As far as the players are concerned, skillset and dedication and not compromised on this front. If you pay attention to the details and the technicality of the game, then it can be a piece of cake. However, it can sometimes turn out to be strenuous for beginners. Look into the points mentioned below that might help you in excelling in the next GPL:

Memorize the rules

It is the classic mantra for any games you play online, not just poker. If you’re not well versed with the rules, then no ifs and or buts can save you from burning a hole in your pocket. Some basic rules like the priority and the ranking of the card, fold, check, double, and many more should be at the tip of your tongue. Some of the casinos tend to make small alterations in their rule, make sure you check to before you being.

In it, to win it

This slogan does not hold for poker. Considering you know the strategy and the rules of the game, you should know when to fold and when to double or increase your bets. Ideally, every hand has a fair chance of winning, but some are just better than the other. So, you got to decide your move carefully.

Play online

League

Before you dive into the vast ocean, you should know how to swim. Just memorizing the rule and hoping for the best will be of no use, unless you practice. Various online sites grant permission to play without money. Make good use of such sites and practice until you’re perfect.

Know when to fold

Sometimes you realize that the odds are entirely against you. It is the best decision to fold, before when you face such situations. By doing so, you will not lose your chips. Sometimes you also come across situations where you need one card to outdo the players on the table. But as a beginner, it is advisable to fold and wait for the killer card, instead of wasting your chips.

Focus on other cards:

In poker, knowledge is power. The more experience you have on your opponent’s card, the higher are your stakes of winning the game. Figuring out their cards and strategies is half the battle. The other half is strategic thinking of how to turn it in your favour. Not to mention, these skills develop with persistent practice and dedication.

Conclusion

As a beginner, it is a real deal to play against professionals in tournaments like the Global Poker League. However, constant practice and improvising your skillset can take you a long way. The rules, as mentioned above, apply to professionals as well; it is always good to brush through your basics.

The Global T20 Canada is a 20-over cricket tournament played in Canada.[2] The first edition of the tournament took place during June and July 2018 with six teams competing.[2] Each team featured four local Canadian cricketers in each squad, along with international players.[3] The inaugural tournament in 2018 took place at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City, Ontario, while the 2019 tournament took place at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario. Bombay Sports Limited are the owners of the league, and also the organizers of the Euro T20 Slam that was set to begin on August 30, 2019.[1]

The International Cricket Council (ICC) sanctioned the tournament in February 2018, and it is the first fully sanctioned T20 league in North America outside of the Caribbean.[4] Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, was pleased with the ICC's decision to approve the league.[5]

In May 2018, Cricket Canada announced that the inaugural edition of the tournament would start on 28 June, with the final being held on 15 July 2018.[6] Vancouver Knights won the tournament, beating Cricket West Indies B Team by seven wickets in the final.[7]

The 2019 league began on 25 July, with the final match taking place on 11 August.[8] The second-round game between Montreal Tigers and Toronto Nationals on August 7, 2019, was delayed for two hours in a protest over unpaid wages; some pay issues date back to the 2018 tournament. The protest occurred even though Toronto Nationals captain Yuvraj Singh's fundraiser for his YouWeCan Foundation, had been hosted two days earlier by League organizers.[1] The third season of the tournament, scheduled to be held in 2020, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[9]
