Willows (formerly, Willow) is the county seat of Glenn County, California. As the county seat, the city is a home to regional government offices, including the California Highway Patrol, California Department of Motor Vehicles and the United States Bureau of Reclamation. The population was 6,166 at the 2010 census, down from 6,220 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 square miles (7.4 km²), of which, 2.8 square miles (7.4 km²) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.92%) is water.
The Willow post office opened in 1876; the name was changed to Willows in 1916.
